Lahore: A student in Hadyara committed suicide on Tuesday for scoring low marks in the matric exams.
15 year old Arslan was a resident of Village Padana. He committed suicide by jumping from the water storage tank, causing multiple head and neck injuries, becoming reason of his death.
Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Labore announced the result of matric annual exams-2024. 250,227 students were appeared in the exams out of which 174,537 students aced the exam with an overall success percentage of 69.75.
According to police officials Arslan showed unsatisfaction over his marks. Meanwhile, police and forensic team have started investigations after collecting the evidence.
Every student is talented but it is the failure of society that measures intelligence, capability and skills on basis of marks. Society has pressurized the students to run for marks instead of conceptual learning, resulting in poor education quality and mental health.
