Islamabad: Today Cipher case has been heard in Islamabad high court. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf major leadership, MNAs and MPAs were present there to show solidarity with Former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Imran Khan was sentenced to 10 years jail in false case - The Cipher Case on January 30, 2024.
Khan's barrister, Salman Safdar turned the table in favour of Imran Khan.
Salman Safdar read out government's first notification related to Cipher case. He said that DG FIA is the legal complainant in this case. The main complainant named neither Imran Khan nor Shah Mehmood Qureshi.
Moreover, Salman Safdar raised questions on the methods of registering FIR. The inquiry was started before the complaint was registered. There is no record that who started inquiry on October 5,2022. If there are no documents regarding inquiry then the case has no foundation and ultimately the case will be closed. DG FIA is not even witness in this case.
Justice Mia Gul Hassan Aurangzeb asked: "Had Interior Ministry ordered DG FIA to start inquiry?"
Chief Justice Amir Farooq said that it is not a hardcore criminal case, not even a white collar crime, this is a different case of its own intention, it is a hybrid type of case and a new court precedent will be formed in this case.
Barrister Salman Safdar said that all cases registered against Imran Khan are out of the book. The decisions of Tosha Khana case and Iddah Case were announced in the same way as Cipher case.
Today, Barrister Salman Safdar entirely opened the Cipher Case in an efficient manner.
