One year behind bars: Imran Khan's resistance remains unshaken



Rawalpindi: Former cricket star and Prime Minister of Pakistan, Imran Khan has been in jail for a year. The imprisonment has been failed to break his vision and resilience.

Popularity:

He still rules over (dominates) the entire country having a largest unbroken public support in history of Pakistan.

Opportunities to get out of jail:

During the year he got many opportunities to get out of jail by compromising on his vision and movement of freedom but he refused and stood unshaken.

Will Khan compromise on his vision?

Imran Khan says that he can spend his entire life in jail and accept to die rather than compromising on his vision of a country having 'rule of law'. A country where both powerful and common citizens will be under rules and regulations.

Justice:

He is forced not to talk about the foreign letter, justice for late Arshad Sharif and others, sovereignty of Pakistan - then he will be out of jail.

Weak cases:

It has become difficult to keep Imran Khan in jail on basis of bogus cases because of public support and weaknesses of the cases.

Who can meet Imran Khan?

Only his legal team and a few family members are allowed to meet him. He spends his day in jail doing reading, walking and exercise.

He also wrote articles from the jail, moreover gave interviews to international media.

Khan's arrests:

Khan was arrested on May 9, 2023 and released on 13 May but for a few months. Police had arrested him on August 5, 2023 on corruption charges in AL-Qadir trust case. Since then he is in jail.

What opponents had said before his imprisonment?

Before going to jail, his opponents were used to say that he couldn't spend a fews days in jail but the world saw his one year imprisonment that failed to shake his faith, vision and nerves. 

February Elections 2024:

In February 2024 elections, Imran Khan emerged as the most popular leader getting more than 2/3 majority.

Current Cases:

Currently, Imran Khan is facing three important cases having no legal importance - Tosha Khana (state gifts) case, Al-Qadir Trust case and 9th May case.

How government has kept Khan in jail?

Government has kept Imran Khan in jail in a way that whenever he gets acquisition in any case, another case imposed on him. About more than 200 cases have been made on Khan since April 2022.

Elections announcement in December 2024:

Imran Khan has predicted announcement of general elections in December 2024 and asked public to prepared for them.

When he will be out of jail?

Currently, no one knows that for how long he will remain in jail.
