Jailed Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Imran Khan has applied to become next Chancellor of Oxford University.

According to Khan's spokesperson, Syed Zulfi Bukhari, Imran Khan will contest in elections to be held in October to become new chancellor.

Added, if he will become chancellor, it will be great achievement for Asia and the rest of the world.

Imran Khan completed his graduation from Oxford University in politics, philosophy and economics in the year 1975.

Former cricket star and popular leader had also served the University of Bradford as chancellor from the year 2005 until 2014.

Imran Khan became prime minister of Pakistan in August 2018. In April 2022, he ousted by a army backed vote of no confidence.

Currently, he is in jail since August 05, 2023. His party won 2/3 majority in February 2024 elections but elections were rigged off.

Final list of candidates will be published by the university in early October, and elections to be conducted at the end of the month.

Imran Khan, a former cricket star bringing world cup for Pakistan, a great politician and former prime minister, Pakistan's most popular leader, former chancellor of Bradford University, is likely to become Oxford's chancellor replacing Chris Patten, the current chancellor.
