UK court declares Hasan Nawaz, son of Ex-Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif, bankrupt
Hasan Nawaz has been declared bankrupt by London court in a legal case involving taxes and debts.
London: Hasan Nawaz Sharif, son of former Prime Minister of Pakistan and the leader of the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif, has been declared bankrupt by London court in a legal case involving taxes and debts.
According to official documents of the London High Court, United Kingdom's tax and revenue department filed the case addressing tax liability.
The London High Court declared him bankrupt after he failed to pay tax liabilities he owed to the UK government.
The UK Gazette officially published the bankruptcy details. The bankruptcy order was issued on April 29, 2024 on the petition filed on Aug 25, 2023.
The legal firm Kaur Maxwell represented the case, handled by Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs (HMRC) it the court.
A bankruptcy order prohibits any individual from managing business and acting as company director without having any approval from the court, until the individual is freed from bankruptcy.
