Dr. Yasmin Rashid: Nawaz Sharif should have the courage to admit his defeat

She said that despite being in jail she had contested in elections and managed to get more votes than Nawaz Sharif. 

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf's (PTI) imprisoned Punjab president, Dr. Yasmin Rashid in an open letter said that PML-N's chief Nawaz Sharif should admit his defeat in the 2024 general elections with courage. In the same way as his party leaders Rana Sanaullah and Khwaja Saad Rafique did.

Dr. Yasmin is in jail since May 2023. She said that despite being in jail she had contested in elections and managed to get more votes than Nawaz Sharif according to the 93 percent elections results as per Form-45.

Added, people knew who had won election in Lahore NA-130 constituency.

Moreover, she stated that laws like Section 144 are enforced against PTI (Imran Khan's party) protestors only. She said that their workers have been facing harassment, arrests, tear gas and physical violence when they try to protest peacefully. This is all under the justification of Section 144. Added, on the other hand, federal foreign minister Attaullah Tarar can hold a rally in Lahore to celebrate accomplishments - assisted by the police.

Furthermore, she said that she did not blame Attaullah Tarar, the follower of 'Ta-hayat Quaid' (lifetime leader) Nawaz Sharif, who played the match only when he had his own umpires in the field.
