Washington: The United States has officially imposed a set of first sanctions under Donald Trump administration.
Trump imposes sanctions to limit Iranian oil export. According to Trump's administration, these sanctions aim to stop Iran from developing it's nuclear program.
Donald Trump said that the purpose of these sanctions is to increase maximum pressure on Iran so that it deter its nuclear program.
Trump added, he want high-level negotiations with Iran so that it can abandon its nuclear program and resume its path of development.
U.S treasury secretary Scott Bessent said in a statement that the Iranian regime is focused on using its oil revenues to develop its nuclear program, develop deadly ballistic missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles, and support its regional terrorist proxy groups.
Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Khamenei opposed the idea of negotiating with the Trump administration, saying that experience has shown that doing so is neither wise, nor prudent, nor honorable.
Among the countries most affected by the sanctions imposed by the Trump administration are China, India, and the United Arab Emirates.
