List of Punjab districts with extended school closures amid smog advisory until November 17
The Punjab government has announced closure of all schools due to smog until November 17.
Punjab: The government of Punjab announced holidays due to hazardous smog until November 17. As per order of the government, all schools and colleges (primary to grade 12) will remain closed till Sunday.
On the Advice of Director General Environmental Protection Agency, School Education Department of the government of the Punjab has announced the extension of closure of all schools till November 17 in Lahore, Faisalabad, Multan and Gujranwala.

Social Provincial Minister, Maryam Aurangzeb stated that burning crop residue is contributing to smog. Additionally, schools, during till November 17, will arrange online classes.
Moreover, she emphasized the use of masks and said that even though schools are closed, parents are taking their children to entertainment venues.
Lahore Air Quality Index:
Air pollution level in Lahore is at highest hazardous highest level. Lahore's AQI was at alarming position of 1,165 early morning.
PM2.5 pollutant levels, exceeding the WHO's threshold reached a dangerous peek of 610.
